Vintage Platone Folding Desk by Giancarlo Piretti

The “Platone” folding desk, designed by Giancarlo Piretti for Anonima Castelli in the 1970s, represents one of the most ingenious examples of Italian modernist furniture. The desk is composed of a chrome-plated tubular steel frame supporting a folding top in molded plastic. The top folds down easily, allowing the piece to be stored flat, making it ideal for compact living spaces while retaining a strong design identity.

CONDITION: Excellent vintage condition with minor wear based on age and use. Chrome is free from any significant wear or rust, and only a small area of pitting can be found (pictured). Top surface near mint with no notable cosmetic wear.
